SEODO KOREA is a trading company that finds competitive laundry and fabric care products overseas and imports and distributes them in Korea. We manage the whole route — product review, import and customs, domestic distribution.

Laundry & fabric care Import & distribution Partnerships in Korea and abroad
About

We assess the product, and prepare its entry into the Korean market.

SEODO KOREA reviews the formulation and its supporting documents, the standards that apply in Korea, and the product's market prospects together. On that basis we design the import procedure and distribution route for each product, and handle the day-to-day work of getting it into the Korean market on a stable footing.

We review the product information and its supporting documents, and confirm the standards that distribution in Korea requires.
  1. 01

    Product and document review

We check ingredient lists, test reports and certification documents, then review the standards and labelling that domestic distribution requires.

  2. 02

    Import and customs management

We prepare the import procedure to suit the product and the applicable Korean requirements, and manage the schedule from clearance through to inbound delivery.

  3. 03

    Distribution operations and aftercare

After a product is listed we keep track of stock, customer enquiries, complaints and reviews, and feed the improvements that come out of them back into how it is distributed.

Vision

Building products and brands that stay trusted.

SEODO KOREA puts steady distribution and sustainable growth ahead of short-term supply. We keep the partnership a responsible one, so that what makes an overseas brand competitive reaches Korean consumers intact.

Founder's Note

Our standard began as one person's question

Heejin Ahn, founder and CEO of SEODO KOREA

Raising a child, the laundry I faced every day turned out to call for far more decisions than I had expected.

Stains had to come out cleanly. But these were clothes worn against skin, so I could not let the ingredients pass either. Was the scent too strong? Could I use it comfortably without rinsing several times over? I found myself weighing each of these in turn.

But when the cleaning satisfied me, the ingredients or the scent fell short. When it was gentle to use, set-in stains often stayed exactly where they were. To have one thing I had to give up another, and it kept repeating.

Why do laundry products all have to be chosen from the same narrow set of options?

That question is what started me looking at laundry and fabric care products from abroad. Comparing formulations and features, reading the documentation and the accounts of people actually using them, I found there were many brands with clear technology and standards of their own.

But finding a good product was not enough to put it in front of Korean consumers. Reviewing it against Korean requirements, importing, clearing customs, labelling, distribution — a single product needs a carefully prepared route before it reaches the market.

I decided to build a company that takes responsibility for that route as well.

What SEODO KOREA asks first when it chooses a product is simple:
would I be glad to use this on my own family's clothes?

We check the parts you can feel directly, like cleaning and scent, and also the ingredients, the supporting documents and the Korean distribution requirements. And rather than leading with what is good about a product, we treat conveying the information and instructions a consumer needs — accurately — as part of the work.

It began as wanting to find better laundry products for my own family. Now SEODO KOREA's work is to introduce products that people who have been asking the same question can choose with confidence.

I will hold on to the intention I started with, look at each product carefully, one at a time,
and build a set of choices that stays trustworthy.

Partnership

A laundry and fabric care partner who knows the Korean market

SEODO KOREA's role does not end at importing the product. We stay with an overseas brand across the whole of local distribution, so it can enter the Korean market steadily and keep growing in it.

01

We work in one category

We concentrate on laundry and fabric care — detergents, softeners, stain removers. We learn how a product behaves and where it gets used, and pin down exactly what has to reach a Korean consumer.

02

We propose for the Korean market

What worked well abroad does not carry over unchanged. We propose the product range and the sales direction around how Korean consumers buy, how they actually use these products, and what each channel expects.

03

One point of contact

Product review and contract, import and customs, inbound delivery and distribution operations — all handled as one flow. We correspond directly in English and Korean, which cuts the dropped details and the delays that sit between a partner and the people doing the work.

04

We stay past launch

Once selling starts we keep watching stock, customer enquiries, reviews and how the market responds. What we learn on the ground goes back to the partner, and we manage the product into a settled position in Korea.

Services

From finding the brand to running it in Korea

01

Overseas brand sourcing

We find overseas laundry and fabric care brands and assess their fit for Korea on formulation, price competitiveness, volume and pack format.

02

Import and customs

Purchase orders, shipping, import declaration, clearance, duty and VAT — the whole import procedure. Before shipment we confirm what has to be filed and which documents are needed.

03

Domestic distribution

After inbound delivery we manage stock, shelf life and lot numbers, and handle channel dispatch, delivery and sales settlement.

04

Market entry strategy

We work through pricing structure, sales channels, first listings and how the product will be run. The entry plan is staged around the Korean market and the brand's own character.

05

Marketing and content

We build product pages and channel content and manage reviews and customer enquiries — conveying accurate information, grounded in the product documentation and Korean labelling and advertising rules.

06

Brand growth

We analyse sales data and customer response and share it with the partner. On that basis we review the next products, product improvements and the direction of the brand together.

Process

From the first enquiry to distribution and reorder

Once we have reviewed the product and its documents, we set out the steps Korean distribution needs, one stage at a time. The detail and the duration change with the product and with how ready the paperwork is.

  1. Enquiry and document review

We go through the product list, ingredient lists, specifications, local certifications and supply terms. From what you send us, we assess whether distribution in Korea is feasible and what still needs checking.

  2. Samples and pre-review

Samples let us confirm handling and quality. We check in advance which Korean standards apply given the formulation and intended use, and what testing or filing will be required.

  3. Supply terms and agreement

We negotiate supply price, minimum order quantity, the scope of the relationship, trademark usage and distribution terms, then sign on what has been settled.

  4. Testing, filing and labelling

We carry out the testing and filing the product needs, and prepare the Korean label and its accompanying documents to the domestic labelling standard.

  5. Order, customs and inbound

The first order is placed and goes through shipping, import declaration and customs. Once cleared, the goods land in a domestic warehouse and are made ready for sale.

  6. Channel launch and operations

After listing on the sales channels and preparing the product content, selling begins. We track sales data and customer response, and feed both into stock operations and the reorder plan.
